This experience is built with intention.
For five days, you’ll train in a focused, small-group environment with Marcelo Garcia, going deeper into the principles, systems, and decision-making that defined his career and continue to shape modern jiu jitsu.
Pontis exists to build bridges between mastery and experience.
This event is one of those bridges.
Marcelo Garcia is an internationally renowned teacher and competitor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling. He has won the World Championships at all belt levels (blue, purple, brown, and 5 times as a black belt), and the Submission Grappling World Championships (ADCC) four times (2003, 2005, 2007, 2011)
Marcelo is also a foremost expert in teaching BJJ. With his innovative and battle-tested repertoire, careful attention to detail, love for Jiu-Jitsu, humor, and friendly personality, he is one of the most sought after instructors in the world. He is an author and teacher of numerous bestselling martial arts instructional videos and books, and most recently he has launched www.mginaction.com, a virtual academy and grappling database that is revolutionizing the way martial arts are studied.
Having excelled at the highest competitive and teaching levels of BJJ and Submission Grappling, Marcelo is thrilled to share his love and passion for this wonderful martial art with you.
Small group sessions. Engage in high-level jiu jitsu workshops aimed to enhance skills, techniques, and overall understanding of the sport.
Ensure a genuine and enriching Hawaiian experience with local kumus (teachers) and cultural workshops.
A retro oasis in the heart of Waikiki, White Sands Hotel blends vintage island vibes with modern comfort. Think private lanais, lush gardens, and a laid-back pool scene—just steps from Waikiki Beach.
This is a training-forward camp, designed for those who want real mat time and direct access.
Two training sessions per day for three full days.
Optional evening sessions all days with Marcelo's students.
Small group format to preserve quality, clarity, and individual attention
Emphasis on fundamentals, transitions, timing, and efficiency—the details that last.
Expect fewer people, more repetitions, and teaching that stays with you long after the week ends.
While training is the foundation, time off the mat matters too. These moments are designed to deepen connection, both to Marcelo and to the place we’re gathering in.
Shared Experiences with Marcelo
Sunset Sail
An evening on the water to slow down, reflect, and connect as a group.
Kualoa Ranch Excursion
A guided visit through one of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic landscapes. Grounded, expansive, and deeply tied to the history of the islands.
Marcelo plans to attend both of these shared experiences.
Additional Group Experiences
In addition to the main excursions, the group will take part in:
Cultural experiences rooted in Hawaiʻi’s traditions
Small workshops and guided sessions designed to support recovery, mindset, and longevity in training
These elements are curated exclusively for the group and woven naturally into the week. Never rushed, never forced.
One Group Dinner
On a separate evening, we’ll host one intimate group dinner with Marcelo, creating space for conversation, questions, and shared stories beyond the mats.

Who can attend?
This camp is open to all ranks and experience levels. Marcelo teaches with clarity and intention, adapting each session to the group. Whether you’re new to the art or a seasoned black belt, you’ll be supported throughout the week.
What’s included in the camp?
Your experience covers all training sessions with Marcelo, open mat time, cultural workshops, curated excursions, and lodging in Honolulu. Airfare not included.
The final itinerary may shift slightly based on weather and availability. Hawaiʻi moves at its own rhythm, and we follow it.
Do I need to bring my own gi or gear?
Yes—please bring the gear you prefer to train in. You’ll also receive a full no-gi set upon arrival. A laundry service is located directly across from the hotel to keep everything clean for daily training.
Can I add extra days or get help with travel plans?
Yes. We can help you extend your stay before or after camp at the same preferred rates. Many guests choose to stay longer—Hawaiʻi tends to invite that.
Are meals provided?
All meals are included. We’ll reach out beforehand regarding dietary needs and preferences. Expect fresh, local options prepared with intention.
How early should I book? Is there a waitlist?
Space is limited. We’re capping the camp at 20 participants to preserve the quality of the experience. If you’re considering joining, we recommend securing your spot early. A waitlist will open once capacity is reached.
This is not just a camp.
It’s time on the mat with Marcelo Garcia, in Hawaiʻi, done with care.
